We all love to indulge in some treats on Christmas day, Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, Christmas pudding with custard and brandy butter and of course the good old mince pie is always a must. But, did you know that a typical Christmas day’s food can add up to three times the recommended daily amount of calories for a woman, and more than twice the recommended daily amount for a man – Gulp!
But, how many of us think about how much time we would need in the gym to work off just one day of over-indulgance! (not many, and certainly not me – until now)!
- With your average Christmas dinner clocking up a hefty 956 calories you would need to do:
x 1 Body Pump class and 30 minutes of running on a treadmill (moderate intensity)
- 1 portion of Christmas pudding with custard and brandy butter:
x 1 circuit class
- x 1 mince pie with cream:
x 30 minute group cycling class
- A portion of roast potatoes:
x 20 minutes on a cross-trainer
So there you have it, for a guilt-free over-indulgent Christmas day that is what you would need to do in the gym to work it all off. But are you going to worry about that whilst tucking in to your Christmas dinner with your family? No, me neither!!! Happy Christmas :0)
